Her career began with a strong IT foundation, where she developed expertise in systems management, data analysis, and compliance, quickly becoming a leader in implementing technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency.

Sarah's journey also led her to the challenging environment of remote mines in the Canadian Arctic, where she spent 10 years navigating the unique safety demands of one of the world’s most extreme workplaces. This experience provided her with invaluable insights into Health & Safety in high-risk, isolated environments, further refining her skills in risk management and emergency preparedness.

Derek (Jay) Barker is a highly experienced Fleet Safety Specialist with over 30 years as a Truck & Coach Mechanic and more than 10 years working in the demanding conditions of the Canadian Arctic as a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor. His extensive experience has equipped him with deep technical knowledge and practical skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy-duty vehicles, often in remote and challenging environments.
Jay's expertise goes beyond mechanical maintenance—he is a recognized leader in fleet safety, specializing in fleet safety audits and compliance management. He has a proven track record of developing and implementing safety protocols to ensure that fleet operations meet regulatory standards while minimizing risks. His hands-on experience with fleet audits allows him to identify potential safety issues and optimize vehicle maintenance programs, reducing operational downtime and improving the overall safety culture within organizations.
